The Benchmade Mini-Griptilian 556 has a grey Valox (FRN) handle. Because it is not that big it is very suitable for people with smaller hands.


The knife is nice and small and is as sturdy as you have come to expect from Benchmade. Steel liners, the well-known axis lock, and a blade of CPM 20CV-steel make it a perfect knife for everyday use. Both lefties and righties can handle this knife perfectly.


## CPM 20CV-steel



The Griptillian has a CPM 20CV-steel blade. This steel type is equal to CTS-204P and Böhler M390-steel. It is one of the most coveted steel types of the moment. The 20CV stainless steel retains sharpness extremely well and is very hard. It’s a bit more difficult to sharpen (so we recommend diamond stones) but it stays sharp extremely long.

Super pliant. Très bonne facture. Le grip est très bon, la lame excellente. Il y a vraiment une impression générale de robustesse et de qualité.

Les bon points :
- Impression générale (solide et fiable)
- Manche très agréable. (attention pas forcément adapté aux grandes paluches)
- Lame excellente, tranchant durable et rasoir.
- clip profond (contrairement à la version standard qui laissait le couteau pas mal dépasser.)

Les petits bémols :
- Même desserré, le pivot n'est pas très souple au départ. Donc ouverture rapide "avec l'élan" du pouce pas évidente voir quasi impossible. Il faut souvent terminer l'ouverture avec un coup de poignet ou accompagner la lame avec le pouce jusqu'au bout. (Mon Rat 2 s'ouvre beaucoup plus rapidement.)
- Pas possible de placer le clip côté pivot. Donc un peu moins pratique à "dégainer". Pas sûr que ce soit forcément un inconvénient pour tout le monde vu que pas mal de gens placent clip en bas de manche.
