The **Böker Manufaktur Classic Black Starter Set 141207SET** is perfect for everyone who has just started out with classic shaving. Böker has been producing straight razors for over a hundred years and has an excellent reputation in this field. This *straight razor* is made in the Böker workshop in Solingen, Germany. Within the Böker range this is one of the most affordable models. With the user-friendly blade shape this has made this *straight razor* perfect for beginners.



This straight razor has an *extra hollow* grind with a *ridge*. The extra hollow grind gives you an extremely thin edge which is also a little flexible. This razor is amazing to work with but perhaps not as suited for heavy beard growth. The *ridge* ensures that the spine of the blade is thick enough to be blocked by the handle. In addition, the spine provides support when determining the right sharpening angle while stropping and sharpening.



The handle is made from black plastic. Simple and sleek, just like the blade which isn't enhanced with an engraving. This modest design is also appealing to the more advanced wet shavers.


## Solingen 1.2210 carbon steel


Böker used carbon steel for this straight razor. Although the technical number 1.2210 might not mean that much to most, the term *Solingen steel* has an excellent reputation worldwide. You could even say that a part of Solingen's reputation as a knife city is the result of the excellent steel quality. After sharpening it is razor-sharp which leaves you with even softer and more comfortable results.
