The **Coravin Model Six** looks incredibly luxurious thanks to the stunning black colour and the chrome accents. As such you can enjoy a glass of wine without having to empty the bottle. Thanks to the new and improved SmartClamps this Coravin is even easier to place on a bottle of wine and also to remove.

 ## Coravin wine system: how does it work?

 With the Coravin wine system you can drink wine per glass without opening the bottle. This innovative system is enhanced with a hollow needle that is pierced through the cork (and the capsule) . You pour the wine via the needle. The space created in the bottle by the same needle is filled with argon gas. Because of this gas no oxygen will reach the wine. As a result oxidation will not occur and the wine won’t become acidic! As soon as you have filled your glass pull out the needle and the cork will close off hermetically to make sure that it is perfectly airtight once more.

 The system works with all bottles enhanced with a natural cork. For bottles enhanced with a screw cap there is also the [reusable Coravin cap](/en/pt/-coravin-screw-caps-6-piece.htm). The box of the Model Six Piano Black contains a Coravin cap to make sure you can also use your Coravin on wines that contain a screw cap.

 ## Coravin capsules with argon gas

 Coravin capsules ensure that the wine maintains its constant quality. Because there is no interaction with the wine and because the argon gas doesn't affect the taste these capsules ensure that you will always have a perfect glass of wine close. Each argon gas capsule enables you to pour 15 150 ml glasses of wine. The Coravin Model Six comes with two gas containers. Out of capsules?  ## Cleaning the Coravin wine system

 Cleaning the wine system is easy. Carefully rinse off the pouring spout with lukewarm tap water. Make sure the water comes out through the needle. By doing this you remove any wine residue from the needle. Afterwards you briefly let some gas escape through the needle to flush out any excess water. Properly dry the system and you are good to go. Do this every time you use the Coravin.
