Full description
The Helle 600 Utvaer is a fixed bushcraft knife designed by the popular Danish designer Jesper Voxnaes. The name of the knife is based on the westernmost group of islands in Norway. The blade of the Utvaer is full-tang, which means that it runs throughout the entire length of the handle. This increases the strength. The scales are made from curly birch wood. The holes in the handle are useful if you want to attach the knife to a stick and use it as a spear. The blade is enhanced with a stainless steel core, laminated between two layers of 18/8 stainless steel. This core has a razor-sharp edge and is easy to sharpen.
The knife comes with a traditional Scandinavian leather sheath.
Maintenance
Both the handle and the blade need to be dried with a soft towel if they get wet. It is recommended to occasionally wax or oil both.
The sheath should also occasionally be impregnated with a colourless agent (grease or wax) to make sure it stays supple. Dry the sheath carefully at room temperature if it becomes wet.
All Helle knives are made and finished by hand. As such each knife is a unique masterpiece because every pattern is different.
