## About the Le Creuset Kone whistling kettle


This compact kettle has a capacity of 1.6 litres. More than enough for a lovely pot of tea. The Kone whistling kettle is made from steel and has an enamelled interior and exterior. This means stains are easy to remove and scratches are barely visible.


Filling the kettle is really easy. Simply remove the kettle's wide lid and you have a large opening. This isn't just useful for filling the kettle, it's also handy when rinsing or cleaning it. The Kone whistling kettle has a fold-in handle. This is great for when you want to transport or store the kettle. This handle can only be folded in one direction: a subtle rim blocks the handle if you try to push it the other way. So you don't have to worry that the handle will collapse while you're pouring from the kettle.


Once the water has come to a boil, the kettle will let you know with a cheerful whistle. Time to take the kettle off the heat source. We recommend using oven gloves to do this. Even though the handle doesn't get hot, the boiling water can sometimes splash when poured.


## Le Creuset whistling kettles: maintenance and use


Before using the kettle, remove the labels and packaging. Then wash the kettle in warm water. Afterwards, bring clean water to a boil and pour out the water after it has boiled. When using this Kone whistling kettle, make sure that the handle is in the upright position. Make sure the kettle is never filled further than the line on the outside of the kettle. To prevent the kettle from boiling dry, you do however need to fill it up to at least the bottom row of dots on the inside of the kettle. Boiling it dry can cause damage to the kettle or the heat source, which is something you want to avoid at all costs.


Always choose a suitable heat source and temperature when boiling water. When using a gas hob, make sure that the flames never reach up the sides of the pan. After removing the kettle from the heat source, make sure you wait 5 or 10 seconds before you open the whistle. Allow the kettle to cool down fully before you boil more water. These whistling kettles simply cannot cope with the sudden difference in temperature. If you won't be using the kettle for a little while, we recommend you empty it and dry it properly. This prevents limescale build-up and keeps the kettle working efficiently.
