Toen het mesje uit de doos kwam had ik al meteen problemen. Het openen klonk als schuurpapier en de pivotschroef kwam iets los. De snede was aan een kant ook niet goed geslepen en loopt langs de buik bijna twee keer zo hoog door. Toen ik het uit elkaar wou halen kwam ik opnieuw een probleem tegen, de schroeven draaien vrij rond. Ik moest een kant met tape vastplakken om grip te hebben bij het schroeven. Ik heb het toen schoon gemaakt en zag dat de washers van teflon of plastic waren. Deze voelen wel heel erg stroperig en heb ik zelf later vervangen met bronzen washers die ik op maat geschuurt heb. Ik heb ze urenlang zitten wiebelen om soepeler te maken, met en zonder olie. Het probleem is ook dat als je het vastschroeft totdat je geen speling meer hebt het bijna muurvast zit. Niet de moeite waard om mee te prutsen, de twee plaatjes brons heeft het meteen opgelost. Nog een dingetje, nu het soepeler opent valt op dat de detent nauwelijks te voelen is. Oppassen dus in de broekzak.

De linerlock voelt wel heel erg scherp bij het sluiten, de rand had wel wat afgerond mogen worden. Ik heb dit zelf gedaan met een diamand vijltje. De stalen backspacer word door niks op zijn plek gehouden behalve frictie van de cilinder waar de schroefjes in gaan. En kan gewoon rondjes draaien. Ik vind voor hoe groot het mes is het mesblad ook eigenlijk te dik. Maar gezien de mooie afwerking kun je niks wegslijpen.

Het ziet er verder al met al wel mooi uit. De enige reden dat ik hem niet terug stuur en gebruik als kantoor edc. Voor mij ongekend voor een mesje dat meer dan 100 euro kost, made in Japan zegt ook niks blijkbaar. Het is voor mij in elk geval de laatste keer dat ik wat van Mcusta koop :(

Mooi compact zakmes. Qua formaat groter dan de Kasumi, maar kleiner dan de Tactility. Op de productomschrijving staat cocobolohout, maar het is violet palissanderhout. Deze houtsoorten lijken erg op elkaar en zijn beide erg mooi. Het lemmet lijkt ondanks het damast is erg op de Take. Een opmerking op Mcusta zakmessen: ze zijn soms niet volledig gecentreerd. Door de spanning van de linerlock drukt het lemmet meer naar de zijkant in dichte toestand, waardoor het ietsje stroever aanvoelt bij het openen. Ondanks dit merk je in de praktijk niet zo veel van.
