The **Wicked Edge Glass Platens, set glass base holders** are two base holders for the  Wicked Edge Sharpening systems. The holders are comprised of a plastic base with two glass sheets. These glass sheets are meant as a base for the Wicked Edge Lapping Films to polish your knives. 

The lapping films are very fine and therefore only suited to maintain the sharpness of your knives or to polish your sharp knives. Are your knives blunt? If so, it is best to sharpen them with coarser sharpening stones.
