Ik had als fijnste korrel eerst een 6000 steen.  Later heb ik de 10.000 en de 16.000 toegevoegd. Ik moet me nog wat bekwamen in de afwerking maar de 16.000 is ook weer een verfijning ten opzichte van de 10.000.
De haalbare scherpte is inderdaad weer beter dan van de 10.000
Het vergt bij mij nog wel training, oefening en wellicht  meer ervaring om het over de hele snede tot zijn recht te laten komen. 
Maar een "papiertje snijden" lukt goed na de 16.000 afwerking. 

Plutôt pour l’acier moderne pas pour l’ancien white et blue carbon. 

I got this stone to polish cutting tools, where they need to be razor sharp in order to slice though (soft) materials. This one is perfect, only splash a bit of water and I can already start lapping. Works dry too, but I prefer the feeling when it is a bit moist. 

Shapton Glass Stones zijn mijn favoriet en ook deze steen doet weer wat ie moet doen. Of 'ie de prijs helemaal waard is kan ik niet zo goed beoordelen, feit is dat mijn houtsnij- en EDC-messen spiegelgladde snedes hebben nu en dát is waar het mij om ging
