Knivesandtools.co.uk, like all other domains mentioned above, is a part of KATO Group BV, located in Apeldoorn. ## 1. Placing an order

All orders are placed online either via our website [www.knivesandtools.co.uk](http://www.knivesandtools.co.uk), or when contacting our customer service department via phone.

## 2. Shipping and Delivery time

Our warehouse is located in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. All products are shipped from this location. Every product listed on the website has a stock label indicating if a product is in stock and ready for shipment or not. Orders to the United Kingdom are shipped with UPS and normally take 3-5 business days to arrive.

## 3. Prices and VAT

Prices listed on the website are in British pounds and include VAT, fees and charges. Customers from the Channel Islands, with the exception of Jersey and Guernsey, do not pay VAT at knivesandtools.co.uk, but will have to pay local VAT upon delivery.

## 4. 18+

All tools listed on knivesandtools.co.uk enhanced with an 18+ logo are only sold to people aged 18 or over. By placing an order and accepting our terms & conditions you declare that you are at least 18 years of age. We may ask you to provide us with proof of identification before we ship your order.

All orders containing products that are labeled 18+ will be shipped with a mandatory identification/age check upon delivery and require an adult signature.

If you are unable to offer sufficient proof that you, as recipient and creator of the order, are at least 18 years of age or older, UPS will take the package and return it to Knivesandtools in the Netherlands. If you are not at home during the initial delivery attempt, UPS will try again later or send the parcel to a pick-up point. In either case, you must be able to identify yourself and prove you are at least 18 years of age or older. If you are unable to do so your parcel will be returned to Knivesandtools. Please note that we may charge you, the customer, for any expenses made during the return process.

## 5. Returns and Refunds

We want to make sure that the products you've ordered live up to your expectations. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied, you can return your order for a full refund* within 30 days of delivery, in accordance with your rights under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.

*Please note: we may ask for compensation if a product you return can no longer be sold as a new product because it has been used or is damaged.

Our customer-friendly return option ensures a smooth process with no unexpected expenses. You return orders at your own risk and we do not cover any return costs.

Kato Group BV cannot be held accountable for missing or damaged returns and products. As such you should always wrap your return with care. We recommend using the box it came in. Also return accessories or promotional items.

We will always credit you the same way you paid us (ie credit card or wire transfer) You will receive a refund within 14 days after we have received the return shipment.

### Damaged or defective items

If you receive a damaged or defective item please let us know via [info@knivesandtools.co.uk](mailto:info@knivesandtools.co.uk). In most cases we will ask you to return the product for further inspection. After inspection we will either replace, repair or refund the product. You will never be charged any additional shipping or handling fees for replacement shipments.

### Warranty

All items on our website come with a warranty of at least 2 years, even though the manufacturer limits this warranty to 1 year. We say ‘at least’ because there are brands who offer a longer period (e.g. Fenix, Eden).

## 6. Local Laws and Regulations

Every country has its own laws when it comes to knives and other items. When you order from knivesandtools.co.uk you agree to being fully accountable for importing the ordered item(s) to the county of destination. Knivesandtools is not liable when and if items are confiscated by authorities.

The thing that makes our Experience Center unique is that you can explore both the products and the brands behind them. At our Experience Center, you will gain insight into the passion and quality behind each brand.

Whether you're a cooking aficionado, an outdoor fan, collector or someone looking for tactical gear; here, you can try out all products. Test torches in a specially designed dark room, compare sharpening systems, EDC pocket knives and multi-tools, check the sharpness of your pocket knife, or discover which axe suits you best in our axe-testing cage.

Powder steel, like CPM MagnaCut, is produced by atomizing molten steel into fine powder particles which are pressed together under high pressure and sintered into a solid block. ## Features of Naniwa Basic Stones 
### Naniwa Basic Stones grain sizes 
These stones are available in two versions; the 220/1000 grit sharpening stone and the 1000/3000 grit sharpening stone. The first stone with 220 grit is useful when the knife has become quite dull, and you want to restore the edge before sharpening it with the 1000-grit side. The 1000/3000 stone allows you to sharpen your knives back to even higher levels of sharpness. Both stones have a red side, that's the side with 1000 grit. ## About 32 Dumas
32 Dumas is one of the most famous knife brands in the world. The brand was founded as early as 1532 by master knife-maker Sieur Dumas in Thiers, the knife capital of France. In the beginning, the brand focused on all kinds of tools and steel objects. In 1591, the mark of 32 Dumas was recorded on the first lead table. An official registration recognising the quality and authenticity of their products. In 1882, the brand moved into the iconic La Croix Blanche factory. There, the knives are still made by hand. 
In 1921, 32 Dumas expanded its range to include a wide range of knives and tools, including machetes, razors and pocket knives. ## About Tenable Knives
Tenable Knives was officially introduced in 2024 as the budget brand of Kansept Knives, as announced on BladeForums on May 29, 2024. This was finally confirmed on 26 June 2024 Inspired by brands like Civivi under WE Knife, Kansept's vision was to create a separate entry-level line to make high-quality designs accessible to a wider audience without diluting the quality of Kansept itself.

The driving force behind Kansept and Tenable is Kim Ning. With more than 20 years' experience as a designer and former production manager at Kizer Knives, he uses his experience to create sophisticated designs while producing affordably.

Tenable is manufactured in the same modern facilities of Kansept, combined with a team with decades of experience in knife production. This ensures consistent quality, even with budget-line product.

The Maglite XL collection is comprised of two versions of LED flashlights: the XL50 and the XL200. The main difference is the amount of lumens and the beam distance. 


Where the XL200 has 172 lumens with a beam distance of 138 meters the XL50 has 200 lumens with a beam distance of 224 meters. With the tactical switch on the back you can switch between light modes, amongst which the stroboscope function. In addition, the beam can be focused to adjust the beam per situation: more reach or a spread beam.

### Pioneering Brilliance: the P series redefined
By the end of 2025, that vision has been revived. The collection has been completely upgraded and is now ready for the future with smart innovations as well as retaining much-loved features from previous models.
The Advanced Focus System has remained unchanged. It switches smoothly between a wide beam for close-up and a powerful spotlight for far distances.
The One-Touch Focus on the larger models such as the P18R and P21R is a new feature. It allows you to focus the beam and easily operate the torch with one hand - fast, intuitive and practical.


A number of models now feature the Mode Select Ring (similar to that of the P17R and X21R). This lets you switch between different light modes at lightning speed or activate the transport lock for extra safety on the move.

The housing consists of 75% recycled aluminium which makes the torches strong, lightweight and durable. The anodised coating further protects the torch from scratches, moisture and dirt.

## Reasons to buy Tatonka

Tatonka GmbH is a German family-owned brand. It's one of only few companies in the outdoor industry who manufacture their products in their own factories in Vietnam. With the entire manufacturing process under their own control, this brand is able to make direct, ongoing and sustainable investments. In August 2023, they installed 850 solar panels on the roof of their factory in Binh Dinh. The electricity generated is consumed immediately and covers about 65% of the daily needs of the entire production. The Tatonka Akela series are cool scout backpacks with a 45-litre capacity for short hikes or as a travel backpack. The specially designed carry system ensures efficient load transfer to the hip area for back-friendly carrying. To position the hip belt correctly, it must be adjusted to your specific back length. That's why these bags offer a wide range of adjustments. The hip belt can be adjusted to the length of your back.

### Tatonka SQZY

The Tatonka SQZY range consists of various pouches, stuff bags, dry bags and other storage bags. The dry bags are ultra-lightweight and have taped seams and a roll closure to compress the contents and store your items completely waterproof. The rectangular bottom makes the bag very easy to pack. The bags are made of siliconised polyamide, which is PFC/PFAS-free and easily washable.

## History of Tatonka

Tatonka, formerly known as Mountain Sports GmbH, was founded by Winfried Schechinger in Dasing, near Augsburg, in 1989\. In 1993, the company branched out into Vietnam, where they built a manufacturing plant in Ho Chi Minh City and obtained an investment licence for Mountech Co. Ltd.

That year, Tatonka was created and the brand was registered worldwide. The year after, 1994, the family-run business was renamed Tatonka GmbH. The same year, the company built a second production plant in Vietnam. Andreas Schechinger took over in 2004\. Mountech Co. Ltd. celebrated its 20-year anniversary in 2009 and merged its production companies in 2010.

The production companies of Mountech Co. Ltd. were first certified to the SA8000 social standard in 2011 and renewed several times, with the last renewal in 2023\. The open factory programme, launched in 2011, makes it possible to visit the factory.

In 2015, Mountech Co. Ltd. took over a production company in Binh Dinh province. Tatonka celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023.

The [**Helle**](kato://category/helleknivesbrand) Audun Limited Edition knife of 2024 is designed by Helle's chief handle maker: Audun. Audun has been working for Helle since 1973\. He started out as cutlery maker and has since become Helle's chief handle maker and foreman.

Over the past 50 years, he has worked closely with three generations of the Helle family, playing an integral role in many designs during this period. A fruitful collaboration indeed.
