The Experience Center covers more than 350 m² and is packed with all the Knivesandtools gear you know and love. From EDC pocket knives to axes and kitchen knives, from flashlights to sharpening tools. Forget static displays, everything is ready for you to test out.

The thing that makes our Experience Center unique is that you can explore both the products and the brands behind them. Discover what makes a Fenix torch unique, experience the craftsmanship of an Eden kitchen knife, or compare the sharpening systems of Wicked Edge and Work Sharp. At our Experience Center, you will gain insight into the passion and quality behind each brand.

Whether you're a cooking aficionado, an outdoor fan, collector or someone looking for tactical gear; here, you can try out all products. Test torches in a specially designed dark room, compare sharpening systems, EDC pocket knives and multi-tools, check the sharpness of your pocket knife, or discover which axe suits you best in our axe-testing cage.

The Experience Center has a tough, robust design with a touch of nature, perfectly matching its location in the Veluwe in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. Parking is free, and you can walk right in. Everything is ready to be discovered. What are you waiting for? Come by and discover it for yourself!

## 1. Placing an order

All orders are placed online either via our website [www.knivesandtools.co.uk](http://www.knivesandtools.co.uk), or when contacting our customer service department via phone.

## 2. Shipping and Delivery time

Our warehouse is located in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. All products are shipped from this location. Every product listed on the website has a stock label indicating if a product is in stock and ready for shipment or not. Orders to the United Kingdom are shipped with UPS and normally take 3-5 business days to arrive.

## 3. Prices and VAT

Prices listed on the website are in British pounds and include VAT, fees and charges. Customers from the Channel Islands, with the exception of Jersey and Guernsey, do not pay VAT at knivesandtools.co.uk, but will have to pay local VAT upon delivery.

## 4. 18+

All tools listed on knivesandtools.co.uk enhanced with an 18+ logo are only sold to people aged 18 or over. By placing an order and accepting our terms & conditions you declare that you are at least 18 years of age. We may ask you to provide us with proof of identification before we ship your order.

All orders containing products that are labeled 18+ will be shipped with a mandatory identification/age check upon delivery and require an adult signature.

If you are unable to offer sufficient proof that you, as recipient and creator of the order, are at least 18 years of age or older, UPS will take the package and return it to Knivesandtools in the Netherlands. If you are not at home during the initial delivery attempt, UPS will try again later or send the parcel to a pick-up point. In either case, you must be able to identify yourself and prove you are at least 18 years of age or older. If you are unable to do so your parcel will be returned to Knivesandtools. Please note that we may charge you, the customer, for any expenses made during the return process.

## 5. Returns and Refunds

We want to make sure that the products you've ordered live up to your expectations. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied, you can return your order for a full refund* within 30 days of delivery, in accordance with your rights under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.

*Please note: we may ask for compensation if a product you return can no longer be sold as a new product because it has been used or is damaged.

Kato Group BV cannot be held accountable for missing or damaged returns and products. As such you should always wrap your return with care. We recommend using the box it came in. Also return accessories or promotional items.

We will always credit you the same way you paid us (ie credit card or wire transfer) You will receive a refund within 14 days after we have received the return shipment.

### Damaged or defective items

If you receive a damaged or defective item please let us know via [info@knivesandtools.co.uk](mailto:info@knivesandtools.co.uk). In most cases we will ask you to return the product for further inspection. After inspection we will either replace, repair or refund the product. You will never be charged any additional shipping or handling fees for replacement shipments.

### Warranty

All items on our website come with a warranty of at least 2 years, even though the manufacturer limits this warranty to 1 year. We say ‘at least’ because there are brands who offer a longer period (e.g. Fenix, Eden).

## Features of the Ledlenser P series

Lansky systems consist of a blade holder, guide bar and sharpening wheels with different grit sizes, ranging from coarse to ultrafine. In addition, strops are also available. The sharpening stones are often made of aluminium oxide, ceramic or diamond, depending on the series. These sharpening systems are used for sharpening kitchen knives, hunting knives, pocket knives and even some tools. The adjustable sharpening angles make it easy to choose the right angle for your knife.

## The number of lumens for a hunting flashlight


To see clearly when out hunting we recommend you purchase a flashlight that has at least 1000 lumens in the highest mode. The amount of lumen represents the total amount of light that comes from a light. However, the amount of lumen does not say anything about the beam distance of the light. That is why you should also look at the beam distance of the light. Most people select a light with a beam distance of approximately 225 meters. We also think that is the right amount. With 1000 lumens/ 225 meters you will know for sure that you can clearly see the contrast of the shadow of the animal. If you want to be able to choose between a broad beam for up close and a narrow beam for further away you should take a closer look at the flashlights with a focusable beam.


## Colour of hunting flashlights


A flashlight with a striking colour looks, of course, amazing, but cannot be used for hunting purposes. After all, standing out is the last thing you want. That is why you should always choose a flashlight with a camouflage colour. A flashlight with a completely black casing could also work.


## Carrying comfort of a hunting flashlight


When you go out hunting you carry a lot of gear with you. As such you are probably not looking to carry a heavy flashlight as well. In our specifications we always list how much a flashlight weighs. It is completely personal what feels good for you, but we advise you to not select a flashlight that is heavier than 600 grams. Many flashlights are also enhanced with a pocket clip. Very practical! The pocket clip is mounted to the flashlight which you can use to easily attach it to your belt or bag. As such you will always have quick access to your flashlight.


## The power of a hunting flashlight


Incredibly impractical if you have a hunting flashlight that doesn't work the moment you need it. That is why we advise you to carefully look at the burn time of the batteries. The burn time should always be longer than the time you expect to be away from home. Well begun is half done. That is why you should always leave your home with full batteries. If possible add a couple of spare batteries to your gear as well.

Hunting flashlight: to see, but not to be seen!

The LifeSaver purification technology filters the water for viruses, bacteria and cysts. As soon as the filter needs to be replaced it will automatically be blocked. ## The Quest for quality


Clay Allison and Devin Kennemore are the driving forces behind Wicked Edge. Their quest for the ideal knife sharpener started after testing many sharpening methods. This resulted in their system that allows very constant sharpening in the ideal angle, which makes the sharpness last much longer. Even when a knife seems to have been sharpened equally sharp with a different method, the Wicked Edge sharpness may last longer .


## Several versions


The principle of the Pro Pack 1 and 2 is identical. The implementation of the Pro Pack 2 is a bit heavier and mechanically more exact. For someone who sharpens often, definitely a pro. Nevertheless, the result of both systems is fantastic.

The Swiss pocket knife, also known as the Swiss Army Knife, has a beautiful history and still is one of the most authentic pocket knives.

The Swiss army decided in the late 19th century to introduce a practical pocket knife for its soldiers. This was ‘Modell 1890’ , introduced in 1891. It could open a tin and take a service gun apart. Due to the introduction of guns, there often is a screwdriver on a Swiss pocket knife. The production was handled by several companies. Ultimately only 2 companies remained: Victorinox and Wenger. These still are the only brands who are allowed to call their knives ‘Swiss pocket knives’ and label them with the typical Swiss cross. Wenger was taken over by Victorinox in 2005. But both individual brands still exist.

All Swiss pocket knives of course have a knife. And most types are equipped with a screwdriver, tin and bottle opener, toothpick and tweezers. There are lots of models and anyone can find their perfect knife. Files, saws, pliers, scissors and now even an usb-stick or LED light can be found on various models. There also are knives designed for a particular target group, like golfers or sailors.

Although the functions of a Swiss pocket knife are limited by its size, the quality of the knives is so high that Wenger and Victorinox provide a lifelong product guarantee. LifeStraw started in 1994 with making a filter to remove Guinea-worm larvae from water. We won’t go into too much detail, but these are nasty parasitic worms! LifeStraw’s filter has been such a success that the Guinea-worm is practically extinct now.


After seeing how well the filters worked against Guinea worms, LifeStraw began developing filters for microbiological contamination. In 2005 they created the 'original' and since then they are constantly working on improving the filtering technology. The filters are getting better and better and eventually there will be clean drinking water for everyone at any time. The pioneers of LifeStraw will take care of that!

Tackling global issues is in LifeStraw’s DNA. In 2014 they started the 'Follow the liters'-program. For every LifeStraw being sold, a child in a developing community will get clean drinking water for an entire school year!

Tatonka GmbH is a German family-owned brand. It's one of only few companies in the outdoor industry who manufacture their products in their own factories in Vietnam. With the entire manufacturing process under their own control, this brand is able to make direct, ongoing and sustainable investments. In August 2023, they installed 850 solar panels on the roof of their factory in Binh Dinh. The electricity generated is consumed immediately and covers about 65% of the daily needs of the entire production. The newly developed carrying system of the Pyrox backpack transfers the load to the hip belt very efficiently. The large ventilated space on the back ensures carrying comfort even during intense trips. For an optimal fit, the system can be infinitely adjusted to your own back length. It is suitable for both very short and very tall people. The Pyrox is available in a 45+10 litre version and a 40+10 litre version, specially adapted to the female physique.

### Tatonka Akela

The Tatonka Akela series are cool scout backpacks with a 45-litre capacity for short hikes or as a travel backpack. The specially designed carry system ensures efficient load transfer to the hip area for back-friendly carrying. To position the hip belt correctly, it must be adjusted to your specific back length. That's why these bags offer a wide range of adjustments. The hip belt can be adjusted to the length of your back.

### Tatonka SQZY

The Tatonka SQZY range consists of various pouches, stuff bags, dry bags and other storage bags. The dry bags are ultra-lightweight and have taped seams and a roll closure to compress the contents and store your items completely waterproof. The rectangular bottom makes the bag very easy to pack. The bags are made of siliconised polyamide, which is PFC/PFAS-free and easily washable.

Tatonka's range mostly consists of backpacks. From small backpacks to large trekking backpacks for multi-day hikes. The backpacks have padded hip and shoulder straps and adjustable carrying systems for maximum comfort.

Tatonka Universal Pouches are robust accessory bags made of Cordura. You attach them to the modular attachment system of Tatonka backpacks or any other MOLLE-compatible gear. The pouches are suitable for storing small items such as a knife, GPS, multi-tool or a torch. But it also provides space for cable ties, batteries, band-aids, electronic accessories and much more! ## History of Tatonka

Tatonka, formerly known as Mountain Sports GmbH, was founded by Winfried Schechinger in Dasing, near Augsburg, in 1989\. In 1993, the company branched out into Vietnam, where they built a manufacturing plant in Ho Chi Minh City and obtained an investment licence for Mountech Co. Ltd.

That year, Tatonka was created and the brand was registered worldwide. The year after, 1994, the family-run business was renamed Tatonka GmbH. The same year, the company built a second production plant in Vietnam. Andreas Schechinger took over in 2004\. Mountech Co. Ltd. celebrated its 20-year anniversary in 2009 and merged its production companies in 2010.

The production companies of Mountech Co. Ltd. were first certified to the SA8000 social standard in 2011 and renewed several times, with the last renewal in 2023\. The open factory programme, launched in 2011, makes it possible to visit the factory.

In 2015, Mountech Co. Ltd. took over a production company in Binh Dinh province. Tatonka celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023.

### How to sharpen with the system

There are two ways to sharpen with the Lansky system:

* Place the knife in a vice
* Hold the clamp in your hand

| Quickest sharpening system | For each side of the blade it took us about 10-15 minutes. In just about half an hour we were able to sharpen the knife. Because the knife is placed sideways it is easy to slip out with the sharpening stones. |
| Results | A very sharp knife. It easily withstood the paper test. With even finer guide rods the knife will probably become razor sharp. |

Designed by Ovidio Calvet, in collaboration with Pablo Movilla, the 2.1 builds upon the signature modified tanto blade with three functional cutting edges: a hollow grind for precision work, a flat grind for powerful chopping and push cuts, and a false edge for improved penetration. The new version offers enhancements in steel type, coatings, markings, ergonomics, and carrying comfort. A striking addition is the luxurious leather sheath with multi-clip, featuring an integrated Kydex ring for accessories such as a firesteel or compact flashlight (1.4 cm opening). Inside, there is an extra Kydex liner that prevents rust formation and ensures firm knife retention without compromising the classic look of leather.

The GiantMouse ACE Farley is a slim and compact slipjoint pocket knife, designed by renowned knife makers Jens Ansø and Jesper Voxnaes. The Farley's design was inspired by concept cars from the 1960s.
