The Benchmade 890 Torrent is designed by Ken Steigerwalt. This designer has not opted for an axis-lock but for a liner lock. This lock unshakably secures the blade made of the popular 154CM-steel as soon as the hefty operating assisted opening has smoothly unfolded it. Just a small push against the thumb support is enough to open the blade. The spring takes care of the rest. Although the thumb support is placed reasonably deep, it can still be reached very well because the G10 handle is milled in the area of that support.
