Full description
The Benchmade Saibu 486 is a stylish gentleman's knife, designed by Seiichi Nakamura. This Japanese designer added a couple great elements from the land of the rising sun to this pocket knife. The see-throughs in the handle might remind you of a Japanese room divider and on the spine of the blade you see a drawing in the backspacer that might remind you of a bamboo stem.
You open it with the thumb stud. This thumb stud is enhanced with a cocobolo inlay. As such the blade nicely fits the look and feel of the handle. When opened the blade is kept in place by a solid axis lock. A rock-solid lock that is great for both left and right-handed use. The interchangeable pocket helps with this, making the Saibu a real friend to all.
Because of the combination of nice cocobolo wood and high-tech G10 the Benchmade Saibu is an extremely interesting knife. Especially when you add CPM 20CV steel to the mix. This is a premium type of steel that is at the moment one of the most popular types of steel on the market today. As such the Saibu is a practical EDC and an elegant gentleman's knife at the same time.
