Case Mini Trapper Smooth Chestnut Bone, 28700, 6207 SS pocket knife
The Case Mini Trapper is a traditional pocket knife with the classic Trapper shape. This pattern was first used by hunters and poachers. This specific version has two blades: one classic clippoint and a traditional speypoint. Both blades have, when it comes to skinning game, their own purpose. When opened they are kept in place by a slipjoint which has also been enhanced with a so-called ‘halfstop’. This means that it stops right before it fully closes to protect your fingers.
Case Tru-Sharp SS steel
The blade is made from Case Tru-Sharp SS, a stainless type of steel which closely resembles 420HC steel. Characterizing for this type of steel is that you can quickly sharpen it.
smooth Chestnut Bone handle
The handle is made from Smooth Chestnut Bones which is, in fact, cow bone enhanced with a colour after which it was given a nice polish. This classic material radiates class and elegance. It completely matches the entire look and feel of Case.
Case Knives: traditional pocket knives
Case has been making pocket knives since 1889. Each knife is assembled and finished by hand which is unique for an American brand. As such each Case knife is unique. Case knives are very collectable and are great companions to your standard EDC pocket knife. Great as a gift, for yourself and for someone else.

A disappointment. Regrettably there were just too many failures in fit and finish on the example I received, so I returned it and was refunded, having been advised that the other examples in stock were no better. Poorly matching scales, poorly applied dye, poor spring alignment, poor blade centring, poor shield fixing. I have recently purchased other Case knives which are made to a much higher standard. It would appear that some Case knives are better than others! It is important that a mail order supplier appreciates we cannot examine a knife before we buy it, and in consequence they should maintain stringent quality control. Even though the aftersales/returns service from Knives&Tools was excellent, I feel let down on this occasion.
