Full description
The Casström Safari is designed as a compact hunting knife for smaller game. However, we still think it is perfect as a fixed EDC knife. The Safari is, in terms of size and finish, a stunning little knife.
The Casström Safari is designed by Alan Wood. This British knife maker has quite the reputation. You might recognize him from his cooperation’s with Ray Mears. As such the amazing qualities and ergonomics are no coincidence at all: Wood knows what he is doing!
The blade is made from Swedish Sandvik 12C27 steel. Stainless and easy to sharpen. Incredibly practical. Remarkable is the thin hollow grind. As such the knife is amazing to work with. The handle is, as you might expect from Casström, incredibly comfortable. Even during long-term use it steel feels great in hand. We also appreciated the fact that you have a lot of control over a relatively short blade.
The handle is made from G10, an incredibly strong type of composite. Striking and rare for a production knife is the tapered tang, which means that Casström has tapered the part of the knife in between the handles up to the end of the handle. This not only looks amazing, it guarantees an optimal balance.
The Casström Safari comes with a decent leather sheath enhanced with a belt loop for belts up to (approximately) 5 cm.
