The **DMT Medium Diamond Cone Fine** is a conical diamond-coated sharpening steel that sharpens curved blades. For example, wooden gouges, spoon knives, curved knives and much more. The sharpening steel has a tapered diameter from 9 to 19 mm.

## Grain size DMT Medium Diamond Cone Fine

The sharpening steel has a grain size of 25 micron. This corresponds with a Japanese sharpening stone of approx. J700 Japanese grit. This grain size provides you with quick results and a sharp edge. The sharpening steel is enhanced with a layer of monocrystalline, synthetic diamonds. Monocrystalline means that each diamond is comprised of one crystal. Unlike polycrystalline diamonds, monocrystalline diamond does not wear out as fast. This makes it the ideal choice for a sharpening steel!

## How to use DMT Medium Diamond Cone

You don't need to use any water with the DMT sharpening steels, but you can use water if you prefer. The advantage of sharpening with water is that the sharpening steel is lubricated and the water carries away the sharpening residue. It's also good to know that a diamond-coated sharpening steel needs to be pre-sharpened. At first it might feel coarse, but this will become less after using the steel a couple of times, after which it will have its desired effect.
