The BC30 is a bicycle light manufactured by Fenix with an integrated battery compartment, as opposed to the BT-bicycle lamps. This makes the lamp a little bit longer but with a length of 12.7 cm and a flat design it remains to be a reasonably compact torch. Two Cree XM-L T6 LEDs, powered by two 18650-batteries or 4 CR123A-batteries, provide a maximum light output of 1800 lumens. This bicycle lamp obviously is also equipped with the innovative ‘Dual Distance Beam System’. This system provides a wider beam at a short distance and a narrower beam at a longer distance. This results in an optimal sight for each cyclist. The neutral white colour of the LED used ensures a proper colour rendition.
In addition to the main switch at the head of the lamp, also a second switch is supplied. This second switch places the lamp in the highest position (burst mode) as long as the button is pressed. This works when the BC30 is switched on in a low setting and also when the lamp is switched off. You can mount this switch, for example, on the handlebar close to the handle. The switch is mounted with a connector into the lamp. An O-ring ensures that the lamp is waterproof.
The lamp is fastened rapidly and easily to the handlebar of your bicycle by means of a quick-coupler. The clamp can remain on the handlebar while the lamp itself can be quickly removed. This way you can enjoy your bicycle lamp for a long time!
* The indication of the light output is according to the ANSI / NEMA FL 1-2009 standard. This means the values may be lower than previous indications. Obviously this lower value does not affect the light output of the torch. The advantage of the ANSI / NEMA FL 1-2009 standard is that values can be easily compared and provide a realistic image of the daily practice.
