With the new SD20 Fenix ensures that you can light up your underwater adventures. This underwater flashlight is waterproof up to 100 meters and has a couple of important functions you might look for in a diving light.
You control the light modes by moving the magnetic ring just behind the light head to the left or the right. By rotating the ring to the right you will switch to the low white light mode. Rotate the ring a little further to the right and you will end up with the high white light mode. If you move the ring from neutral a little to the left you activate the red light mode. Another click to the right and you will activate the battery indication mode. If this light is red it means that the batteries are still full enough, if the red light is blinking it means that the battery is running low. When, in the battery indication mode, you will no longer see a light you will know that the battery discharge level is critical. Because of the slight texture on the magnetic switch ring you can also easily control this light when you are wearing diving gloves.
The voltage-regulation chip warns you in case of low voltage, regulates the voltage to make sure the temperature won’t increase too much and takes care of a constant light output.
The neutral white colour ensures that even underwater the contrast is optimal. In addition, the solid double-layer aluminium casing ensures that it is properly protected against corrosion. Furthermore, the double O-ring takes care of a reliable waterproof seal.
The Fenix SD20 comes with a useful lanyard you can wrap around your wrist. In addition, the lanyard has an orange rubber ring around the paracord. So even when you tightly wrap the lanyard around your wrist, because you want to make sure you won’t lose the light, it will also be comfortable. In addition, the orange ring definitely stands out to make sure you won’t lose it.
The SD10 works with two 18650 batteries or four CR123A batteries. You can use both button-top and flat-top batteries for this diving light. Don’t forget to place the included magnetic connectors disc in between the button-top 18650 batteries.
3 light modes with two 3400mAh 18650 batteries:
- Low (400 ANSI lumens, 7 hours and 30 minutes)
- High (1000 ANSI lumens, 3 hours)
- Red (105 ANSI lumens, 9 hours)
*The light output listed is according to the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 norm. This means that the values could be a little lower than the values listed before. However, this lower value will, of course, not affect the strength of the light. The advantage of the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 norm is that the values can easily be compared and give you a realistic view of everyday practice.
