The LionSteel Opera is the perfect pocket knife to have on you at all times. It is lightweight and elegantly slim, and is manufactured from top-quality materials. It can also be opened using just one hand. Its G10 handle is resistant to heat, moisture and many chemicals. The grip is truly excellent, even under wet conditions. The D2 steel blade is really hard and retains its sharpness for a long time. The pivot can also be adjusted, if necessary.  
  


The Italian designers have obviously paid attention to the details. The ridges on the blade run subtly up to the back of the knife. The lanyard opening is beautifully incorporated in the back instead of what you usually see and that is, a hole in a knife.  
  


The steel liners are milled to reduce the weight of the knife. And you can feel that!

Mooi gemaakt edc mesje, gaat een beetje stroef open , zal waarschijnlijk na meer gebruik beter worden. Goede materialen, zeer grove g10 wat een stevige grip geeft.
D2 lemmet is scherp en netjes geslepen en gecentreerd. De prijs zou wat naar beneden mogen.

Excellent couteau de poche ayant une très bonne prise en main et à la fabrication de grande qualité. Le tranchant et la qualité de l'acier sont irréprochables.

Mooi afgewerkt mes, hij ligt prettig in de hand en de g10 biedt erg veel grip. Het hol geslepen lemmet zorgt ervoor dat hij goed kan snijden. Opent gemakkelijk met een hand en maakt een mooi klik geluidje. Het d2 staal laat zich lekker scherp slijpen en blijft ook lang scherp.

Zocht een kleiner kwaliteitsmes voor edc dus viel mijn keus op deze opera (lionsteel heeft een goede reputatie).
Degelijk gebouwd mesje, zeer licht door G10 en uitgefreesde liners. Lemmet is goed gecentreerd en kwam goed scherp aangeleverd, ook stevige vergrendeling, geen blade play. Openen gaat ook vrij smooth. Het was wel even terug wennen aan tip down dragen (ik verkies tip up, jammer dat er maar één optie is bij dit mes). Het uitstekende rechte hoekje van het lemmet in gesloten positie heeft wel de neiging om in de broek te haken. De ruwe textuur van de G10 was ook nieuw voor mij maar na even te gebruiken went het wel. Ook mijn eerste ervaring met het harde D2 staal. Ik heb nog niet de kans gehad om veel snijtesten te doen maar momenteel is het mes nog net zo scherp als in het begin (na wat lichte werkjes). 
De grootste tegenvaller was dat er (ofwel direct na levering ofwel na eerste papiersnijtest) een diep kapje in de edge zat. Ik weet dat D2 bij 61HRC vrij hard en dus brosser is maar ik had wel beter verwacht van lionsteel. Nu ben ik aan het afwachten tot het mes botter wordt om dan het kapje eruit te slijpen. 
Over het algemeen dus wel tevreden, jammer van het kapje.

Door de wat 'saaie' uitstraling sloeg ik de 'Opera' aanvankelijk over. 
Dit is de meer tactische uitvoering van de klassieke 'Opera'(zonder 'thumbstuds' en met houten of hoornen handvat). Het mes bestaat in twee maten, waarvan dit de kleinere uitvoering is.
Ik vind het een geweldig mesje. Goede kwaliteit en afwerking. De degelijkheid straalt er vanaf. De G10 is ruw, maar niet zo 'dodelijk' als bij Cold Steel messen het geval is. Dit is een ideaal EDC mesje, goed scherp, beschaafde afmeting en uitstraling. Ik kan deze LionSteel 'Opera' van harte aanbevelen. De prijs / kwaliteit verhouding is meer dan uitstekend. De 'Opera' doet beslist niet onder voor veel duurdere overzeese messen.
