The **Tojiro Basic F-316 santoku** is a simple yet effective Japanese kitchen knife. A santoku is the Japanese version of the chef's knife. This knife is perfect for chopping vegetables, meat, fish, onion, garlic and various types of herbs. The remarkable forging method and the luxurious handle material ensure that not only the whole looks amazing, but is also amazing to use. The knife was made in Seki, Japan by artisan knife makers using traditional techniques.

## Tojiro Basic steel type

The blade is made from high-quality Japanese VG10 steel, laminated between two layers of 13-Chrome stainless steel. This ensures optimal sharpness and maximum corrosion resistance. The convex grind of the edge will retain its sharpness for a very long time, and it's easy to sharpen.

The lightweight handle feels great in hand. It is made from compressed layers of thin wood and synthetic resin, better known as pakkawood. This material is moisture resistant, very hygienic and firmly attached with 3 rivets for additional strength.
