Swarovski EL binoculars

You recognise the EL line by its open bridge: you put your thumbs through it and hold the binoculars steady with both hands. That helps when you observe for long periods. Alongside the regular EL there is the EL Range, which also measures the distance to what you see. You order the FieldPro straps and the bino harness for this series separately.

Features of the Swarovski EL

EL stands for Ergonomic Light. The bridge between the two halves is open, so your thumbs go through it and your hand closes around the binoculars instead of sitting underneath them. You notice that after an hour of birdwatching: the image is steadier and your wrists keep going for longer.

Sharp image right to the edge

The Swarovision optics keep the image sharp right to the edge, even if you wear glasses. Especially with a wide field of view, that is where many binoculars fall short, because the outer part then becomes unusable.

EL or EL Range

The regular EL is a pair of binoculars and nothing more. The EL Range also measures the distance to what you see and factors in the angle of incline. That is intended for hunting and for terrain with height differences, where a sloping line looks shorter than it is.

Carrying

The EL comes with the FieldPro system: the strap clicks into place and turns with you, so the binoculars do not tilt against your chest when you bend down. If you wear them all day, a bino harness spreads the weight across your back instead of your neck.
