The ESEE JG3 is a part of the ESEE Knives Camp Lore collection. The Camp Lore knives were developed based on the demand for traditional, basic, strong bushcraft knives. The designers of the Camplore collection all have unique backgrounds and experiences and are considered to be the best in their fields. All Camp Lore knives are simple, traditional designs that have proven their worth in the field a hundred times over. Each knife is produced in the United States.
The JG3 was designed by James Gibson. He has a lot of experience when it comes to producing knives for bushcraft and woodwork. You can tell when you look at the slim and compact design of the JG3. The droppoint blade with flat ground edge is amazing to use. The ergonomically shaped handle feels great in hand. The handle is made from canvas micarta and has that recognizable Gibson shape, slim at the start of the blade for enough grip and thicker towards the middle of the handle for precision and comfort.
The blade is made from 1095 carbon steel. This is strong type of steel that is easy to sharpen. This steel, however, is a little more sensitive to rust and does require some maintenance. That is why we recommend to keep this knife dry and possibly slightly greasy.
The included leather sheath looks amazing. The knife is properly secured and won't spontaneously fall out.
