Full description
This bread knife is sharpened by hand according to the principle of the traditional 'Solinger Dünnschliff '. This results in a razor-sharp knife. Thanks to the deep serrations it has become known as the “best bread knife in the world”. The hollow shape comes from the natural rocking motion of the hand when cutting. The high blade makes it possible to cut very thin slices of bread.
The particular shape of this bread knife is called “Bosscher”. This term comes from the Dutch word for forest: 'bos'. The knife finds its origin in the sugar plantations of the Dutch colonies.
Knives by Robert Herder are largely hand-made, which can result in a somewhat longer delivery time. This also means that the delivery time can sometimes be longer than on our site. When the knife is ‘in stock’ on the website we do actually have it!
