## 1. Placing an order

All orders are placed online either via our website [www.knivesandtools.co.uk](http://www.knivesandtools.co.uk), or when contacting our customer service department via phone.

## 2. Shipping and Delivery time

Our warehouse is located in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. All products are shipped from this location. Every product listed on the website has a stock label indicating if a product is in stock and ready for shipment or not. Orders to the United Kingdom are shipped with UPS and normally take 3-5 business days to arrive.

## 3. Prices and VAT

Prices listed on the website are in British pounds and include VAT, fees and charges. Customers from the Channel Islands, with the exception of Jersey and Guernsey, do not pay VAT at knivesandtools.co.uk, but will have to pay local VAT upon delivery.

## 4. 18+

All tools listed on knivesandtools.co.uk enhanced with an 18+ logo are only sold to people aged 18 or over. By placing an order and accepting our terms & conditions you declare that you are at least 18 years of age. We may ask you to provide us with proof of identification before we ship your order.

All orders containing products that are labeled 18+ will be shipped with a mandatory identification/age check upon delivery and require an adult signature.

If you are unable to offer sufficient proof that you, as recipient and creator of the order, are at least 18 years of age or older, UPS will take the package and return it to Knivesandtools in the Netherlands. If you are not at home during the initial delivery attempt, UPS will try again later or send the parcel to a pick-up point. In either case, you must be able to identify yourself and prove you are at least 18 years of age or older. If you are unable to do so your parcel will be returned to Knivesandtools. Please note that we may charge you, the customer, for any expenses made during the return process.

## 5. Returns and Refunds

We want to make sure that the products you've ordered live up to your expectations. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied, you can return your order for a full refund* within 30 days of delivery, in accordance with your rights under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.

*Please note: we may ask for compensation if a product you return can no longer be sold as a new product because it has been used or is damaged.

Our customer-friendly return option ensures a smooth process with no unexpected expenses. You return orders at your own risk and we do not cover any return costs.

Kato Group BV cannot be held accountable for missing or damaged returns and products. As such you should always wrap your return with care. We recommend using the box it came in. Also return accessories or promotional items.

We will always credit you the same way you paid us (ie credit card or wire transfer) You will receive a refund within 14 days after we have received the return shipment.

### Damaged or defective items

If you receive a damaged or defective item please let us know via [info@knivesandtools.co.uk](mailto:info@knivesandtools.co.uk). In most cases we will ask you to return the product for further inspection. After inspection we will either replace, repair or refund the product. You will never be charged any additional shipping or handling fees for replacement shipments.

### Warranty

All items on our website come with a warranty of at least 2 years, even though the manufacturer limits this warranty to 1 year. We say ‘at least’ because there are brands who offer a longer period (e.g. Fenix, Eden).

Every country has its own laws when it comes to knives and other items. When you order from knivesandtools.co.uk you agree to being fully accountable for importing the ordered item(s) to the county of destination. Knivesandtools is not liable when and if items are confiscated by authorities.

## An incredibly long tradition


The concept works because the history of EKA dates back to 1882. The factory is located in the village of Eskilstuna, sometimes also called the knife capital of Northern Europe. The region has been through good and bad times. After the dust of history settled, however, the largest knife factory of the region became a fact thanks to modernization and properly chosen models.


## Handles made from wood and plastic


Most knives are available with handles made from plastic and wood. The plastic feels soft. This is very comfortable in hand, and it also offers a lot of grip, even in wet circumstances. You can choose from black or striking colours such as orange. Anyone who prefers natural materials can choose from wooden versions. Even though these are not as soft as the plastic versions they still feel great in hand. Finger grooves and ridges take care of enough grip.

The axe is one of humanity’s oldest tools. We have been sharpening rocks for thousands of years, and around 6000BC we started adding a handle for increased cutting power. Our human ancestors used these implements to dig up roots, cut wood and butcher animals, and for war. Fast forward a couple of thousand years and the axe remains a vital and steadfast tool in the history of humans. For some cultures (the Vikings in particular), the axe is even an integral part of their national heritage and culture, and plays a vital role in the historical narrative of their ancestry.


The modern axe, as we know it today, came into full effect during the industrial era, and with it came a wave of consumers and companies using the axe for large scale forestry to meet the need for timber in building our ever expanding towns and cities. Axes became standardised, mass produced and built to perform to the demands of industry.

## Back to their Roots


According to the company, the design of the Norden series embodies Fiskars long heritage of axe craftsmanship, a tradition that dates back to the 17th century. Fiskars have been around a long time, and know what they’re up to when it comes to tool making.
