Nitecore power banks

You buy a Nitecore power bank for one reason: weight. Nitecore builds the housing from carbon fibre-reinforced polymer, so at the same capacity you carry tens of grams less than with an ordinary power bank. For trail runners, bikepackers and anyone who weighs their kit, that really makes a difference.

Buying Nitecore power banks

Nitecore makes power banks for people who weigh their kit down to the gram. On some models, the CFRP housing is moulded from a single piece, which gives you a shell that can handle pressure in a backpack and still stays light.

Nitecore powerbank 10000

The 10,000 mAh models are the most popular size. With one of these, you can charge a phone three to four times, or keep your head torch, sports watch and earbuds going over a weekend. The lightest model in this range weighs 143 grams, about half an apple. Two USB-C ports, so you can charge two devices at once.

Nitecore powerbank 20000

If you need to go several days without a socket, go for a 20,000 mAh model. It weighs around 300 grams and charges a phone fully more than four times. Watch out for low current mode: without that setting, many power banks do not recognise a smartwatch or wireless earbuds and switch themselves off.

Beyond that, Nitecore offers waterproof versions, magnetic models that click onto the back of your phone, and power stations of over 100,000 mAh for camping with electricity. You cannot charge loose batteries with these, for that you need the Nitecore chargers.
