The ESEE Model 6 is a solid survival knife with a blade made from 1095 carbon steel. The extremely sustainable powder coating on the blade protects it from the increased corrosion sensitivity of the carbon steel. The wonderful usage qualities of the steel guarantee a lifetime of pleasure. The full tang blade is enhanced with a micarta handle. The handle feels slightly coarse which is great for grip and comfort. The ESEE Model 6 is a large and solid knife that can withstand extremely heavy use. The model 6 weighs 335 grams. That is quite heavy for a knife. But if you don't mind the weight you know you will be left with an incredibly solid knife.
This is the partially serrated version. Just before the handle a 2.6 cm piece is enhanced with serrations. Perfect when cutting through high-fibre materials, such as rope.
The ergonomics are excellent. The handle is enhanced with a curve for your index finger. The handle is quite large. Also suitable for large hands. If you place your index finger in the curve at the base of the blade, your thumb will automatically fall on the ridges that are added to the top of the blade. As such you have more control over the knife. The back of the knife has a large hole for a lanyard. The back of the blade runs throughout the handle. As such you can also use the knife as a hammer. It might not be a real glass breaker but because it is so heavy this knife can break through a thick layer of glass.
This ESEE 6 comes with a nice Zytel sheath, with belt clip. You can assemble this yourself in a way that suits you best.
