Proven materials for a proven survival knife

The ESEE 6 is made from 1095 carbon steel. Not stainless, but it can handle quite a lot. Perhaps just as important: 1095 is easy to sharpen. As such you will be able to end up with a razor-sharp knife in the field by only using limited means. ESEE has chosen micarta for the handle. Incredibly stable and feels great in hand. Another advantage of Micarta is that it slightly expands in wet circumstances to give you even more grip.
