Buy WMF cutting boards

Which WMF cutting board suits you depends mainly on what you want to use it for. Are you looking for a wooden board with a natural look, or a plastic cutting board that is easy to clean? The size and construction of the board also matter. A compact board is handy for a quick cutting task, while a larger model gives you more space when preparing a complete meal.

WMF cutting boards in bamboo and wood

Strictly speaking, bamboo is not wood but a type of grass. The material is hard, fibrous and absorbs relatively little moisture. As a result, a bamboo board does not warp easily and is easy to keep clean. However, bamboo's hardness has more impact on your kitchen knife's edge than softer woods. Notice that your knife no longer cuts smoothly? Then it is time to sharpen it.

Alongside bamboo, WMF also uses woods such as acacia wood. Not only the wood type matters, but also the construction. An end grain cutting board, for example, is highly suitable for cutting tasks. With end grain, the ends of the wood fibres face upwards, allowing the knife edge to move between the fibres. This makes end grain an interesting choice if you often use good kitchen knives.

WMF plastic cutting boards

Plastic cutting boards are especially useful if you want a board that is easy to clean. Depending on the model, they are dishwasher-safe and suitable for cutting meat, fish or vegetables, for example. Always check the features of the specific cutting board.

Some WMF cutting boards are made from TPU. This is a plastic that gives slightly under your knife's edge. As a result, the material has less impact on the edge than many hard plastics. A TPU cutting board therefore combines easy maintenance with a pleasant cutting surface.

WMF cutting board maintenance

Wash wood by hand and oil it occasionally. Read how to do this in wooden cutting board maintenance. If you are deciding between the two types, our cutting board buying guide can help. And if you are here for knives, find them under WMF kitchen knives.
