The knives from the Sakai Takayuki Gin San collection have a typical Japanese look and feel. With great care and craftsmanship these knives are made by hand in the Japanese city of Sakai. This elegant collection of knives is made by a wonderful blacksmith called: Mr. Yamatsuka. A blacksmith who makes really special knives. The knives are sharpened by master sharpener Mr. Hirotsus and are razor-sharp upon delivery!
The knives from this collection have a blade made from Silver steel. Knives made with this stainless type of steel are known for their great quality and retain their sharpness for a very long time. You do need some experience when sharpening these knives. Classic damasteel is folded around the core. 33 layers in total. It gives these knives their unique and stunning look and feel. The oriental character of the knife is emphasized by the choice of an octagonal handle made from Japanese selfcova wood. The crop is made from buffalo horn. Truly a dazzling combination.
