What is a meat fork?

Some meat forks are enhanced with round, curved teeth. Others have teeth that are made from angular steel. They can be used for all types of tasks, but a fork with curved teeth is more suited to turn meat in the pan. A fork with straight teeth wins when carving meat. And straight meat forks often will fit inside a knife block!

How do you choose the best meat fork?

The length of a meat fork is important. A fork with a length of approx. 30 cm can be useful because it keeps enough distance between your hand and the hot surface of the grill or the meat. The forks are often made from stainless steel.

When choosing a meat fork, check the number of teeth and their shape. A fork with long, sharp teeth can be practical to properly keep meat in place but also to turn it over. If, however, you want to carve the meat, shorter teeth are better.

In addition, it is important to choose a fork that is not too heavy. A properly balanced meat fork enables you to easily move the meat. The weight also ensures that the fork feels good and comfortable in hand and the handle provides you with enough grip and prevents your hand from getting tired.

Maintenance meat fork

Clean the meat fork after use by hand with a mild detergent. Do you own a meat fork with a wooden handle? Keep in mind you should never completely submerge it in water. Water will damage the handle.
